Signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation Between the Omani Intellectual Property Association and Al Buraimi University College

As part of efforts to promote intellectual property (IP) awareness and strengthen cooperation and synergy between academic and professional institutions, the Omani Intellectual Property Association signed a memorandum of cooperation with Al Buraimi University College on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Association’s headquarters in Muscat.

The memorandum aims to raise awareness of the importance of intellectual property rights, develop joint training programs and workshops, and support research and innovation projects in the field of IP. This partnership will also help students and researchers understand mechanisms for protecting creativity and inventions, and connect them with professional expertise in this vital field.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Association by Dr. Ali bin Khamis Al-Alawi, Chairman of the Omani Intellectual Property Association, and on behalf of the college by Dr. Yasser Fouad, Dean of Al Buraimi University College, in the presence of several academics and officials from both parties.

Both parties expressed their hope that this agreement will lead to quality initiatives that enhance the Sultanate’s position in innovation and scientific research and contribute to building a generation that is aware of the importance of protecting intellectual property rights.
