A meeting between the Omani Society for Intellectual Property and the National Center for Statistics and Information about an exploratory survey on community awareness of intellectual property
To strengthen the bonds of community participation, and to consolidate its various objectives, Dr. Ali bin Khamis Al-Alawi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Omani Intellectual Property Society, met with His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Al-Barwani, President of the National Center for Statistics and Information, in the presence of Eng. Saeed Al-Hadrami, Executive Director of the Oman Intellectual Property Association.
And the attendance of the Society’s Executive Director, Eng. Saeed Al-Hadrami, as well as the expert on intellectual property, Professor Fatima Al-Ghazaliya, and the intellectual property specialist, Mr. Muhanna Al-Zahimi.

During the meeting, there was an exchange of talk about areas of cooperation between the two sides, as spreading awareness of intellectual property in the Omani society is one of the priorities of the Omani Intellectual Property Association, and therefore attention was focused on it by the Society’s Board of Directors and its members, and to achieve this, the Society seeks to conduct an exploratory survey to measure the extent of awareness Community-based intellectual property to benefit from global experiences and according to a scientific methodology, and in the interest of those in charge of the association so that the questionnaire will be formally approved by the competent authorities in the Sultanate. Cooperation has been made with the National Center for Statistics and Information, and the center’s approval of the questionnaire came not only by approving the application, but by participating in the stage Implementation of the poll, as it represents a national action. Development plans in the field of spreading awareness of intellectual property will be based on its results, in cooperation with all actors in this field.
